Plus Size Revolutionized

Your familiar with the saying, "Don't call it a come back..we"ve been here for years". Well that's the perfect phrase to describe plus size fashion. In my opinion the people who were making it before either weren't plus sized women, or didn't know plus size women. Something has definitely changed in how are fashions are being made. The fabrics and fit is sexier and more flattering and the attitude and creativity that is put into making the clothes transcends to the consumers. I actually think that this economy is a blessing in disguise for a lot of people. Its allowed people who have lost jobs and all hope for a secure future make a choice to finally follow their dreams and do what makes them happy. We have had an emergence of talented plus size designers who, had they still had the security of their 9-5, would have never felt the need to pick up the dreams they let fall to the wayside.

A lot of companies are seeing drastic increase in sales and demand for plus size apparel. As a result everyone is reaping the benefit, owners and consumers alike. All of us have been there, awkwardly shopping with our thinner friends ooh-ing and aah-ing over the cute clothes they try on; in our minds we're calling them every name in the book. Not because we are jealous haters like society has always tried to paint the "bigger' friend, but frustrated because we know that no matter what store we go to the only plus size apparel we would find was stuff our grandmothers would wear. Now those days are over. Its fall that means its time for jeans and boots and cute coats, and guess what..they have them in our size! Those cute jeans that hug your curves just right- they got em! Those knee high even thigh high boots that add the extra sexy to your outfit- they got them too! (Yes they finally have some wide enough for our calves) Its also getting cold out which means its cuffing season and cuddle time. Super sexy-he cant keep his hands to himself- nighties, yes ladies they have them.

Plus sized clothing sales are expected to increase by more 13% throughout 2014. That's 6 billion dollars up for grabs. If you ever had a dream of being a clothing designer now is the time to make that dream come true. Did you know that 75% of American women are plus sized or a size 14 or larger. Did you know that only 17% of women's apparel is made for those women? So that means the sales of girdles and spanx must be through the roof, because I don't see a lot of people walking around naked, so they must be tieing it up and sucking it in to fit into those smaller sizes. JC Penny (even though the owner wont state specifics) has admitted that plus size sales are doing better than almost everything else in the store. Full figured women have always had the means to buy what what we wanted, there was just never anything good for us to buy.  Last year plus size fashion made its debut on the Fashion Week Runway. Since then fashion sales have been through the roof. Big girls are here to stay. Not all of us are unhealthy and over weight. Plus size doesn't have to be a bad thing. The more we embrace ourselves the more society will embrace us. We will also see more of the clothes and styles that we love tastefully done and tailored to fit us. For more deals and steals on plus sized fashions check out a few of my favorite places to shop. Torrids- they have amazing and stylish jeans as well as the new wide calf boots I mentioned. Romans- this is more for the older more sophisticated big girl. There are some younger looks that I like as well though. http://www.onestopplus.com/ this website has it all, at low prices. Check it out and let me know what hot trends you find. Where do you find your fabulous?
